Mt Thorung Peak Climbing itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival at Kathmandu (1,300m).

    The trip starts with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport(TIA).A Himalaya Summit Club will receive you to escort you to the hotel. After driving to the hotel and resting, you can head out to the streets and explore the city. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.

    On the second day of your arrival in Nepal, you will head out to explore the world heritage sites in the city. The tour begins with the exploration of the Swayambhunath stupa on the north-western hill of the valley. Continuing along the religious tone, the tour adds a bit of history as you settle in the Kathmandu Durbar Square. Following with a tour to the Pashupatinath Temple, the sightseeing in the capital ends as you reach the Boudhanath stupa. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu. 

  • Day 3 Drive to Chame (2,670m) 7/8hours.

    After arranging the permit, documents and equipment you drive to Chame. The bus ride takes you along the countryside providing the views of lush green forests, beautiful mountains, and rural settlement. The drive passes through villages of Jagat and Dharapani as you head north from Besisahar. The entire journey follows the Marshyangdi River before settling down at Chame. Ktm to Beshisahar by Bus and Beshisahar to Chame by 4wheel jeep. Overnight stay at Chame.

  • Day 4 Trek to Pisang (3,200m) 5/6 hours.

    The trek to Pisangstarts with a pleasant walk through the narrow steep pat. You pass through the dense pine forest and follow the river bank to reach the village of Bhratang.The trek continues on a rocky trail before reaching Dhikur Pokhari. After lunch here, you continue the trek and make your way to Pisang.Overnight stay at Pisang.

  • Day 5 Trek to Manang (3,540m) 5 hours.

    From Pisang, you climb up encountering the strong wind and dry atmosphere. The trail rises at first and then gets steeper from Lower Manang.From the crest of a ridge ahead, you can see the views of upper Manang.The trail takes you to pass the settlement area of Munchi and cross Sabje Khola to reach Manang.Overnight stay at Manang.

  • Day 6 Rest day for Acclimatization at Manang.

    Today is all about resting and getting used to the high altitude conditions. During this time, you can enjoy the short hikes around the Manang or explore the village lifestyle. The Braga and Boozo monasteries in the outskirts of the village are great for understanding the Tibetan influence upon the culture and lifestyle of the region. Gangapurna Lake is yet another destination for hikes around Manang Village. Overnight stay at Manang.

  • Day 7 Trek to Yak Kharka (4,020m) 5 hours.

    Today is a short walking day for you. You slowly descend through the village of Manang andhead towards the small settlement of Yak Kharka. The trail follows a gradual path towards a hill and goes right behind the hill to arrive at Yak Kharka. On the top of the pasture land at Yak Kharka, you can enjoy the views of Annapurna II (7,555 m), Tilicho(7,132 m) and Gangapurna (7,454 m)peaks. Overnight stay at Yak Kharka.

  • Day 8 Trek to Thorung Phedi (4,400m) 4 hours.

    You follow the rugged trail and arrive at Ledar. From Ledar, you trek on the ascending trail to Jharsang and then walk along the eastern edge of JharsangRiver. The trail then descends and crosses a wooden bridge to a small tea shop. After a short break here, you follow a narrow path on an unstable slope to Thorung Phedi. Overnight stay at Thorung Phedi.

  • Day 9 Trek to Thorung High Camp (4,925m) 2hours.

    The walk from Thorung Pedi to Thorung High Camp is pretty short and takes only around 2 hours.After reaching the high camp, you take some good rest and recheck your equipment as tomorrow you head towards the Thorung HighCamp. The views of the Himalayas in Thorung, Muktinath, and Nilgiri ranges are quite mesmerizing from the Thorung High Camp. Overnight stay at Thorung High Camp. 

  • Day 10 Trek to Throng Peak Base Camp (5,400m) The top of Throng pass.

    Another day with relatively shorter trek duration. However, the trek sees a great increase in altitude when heading to the Thorung Peak Base Camp. The base camp is situated near the Thorung Pass (5,416m) and offers plenty of time for you to rest and savor the views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay at Thorung Peak Base Camp.

  • Day 11 Climb to Thorung Peak summit (6,144m) than Down to Muktinath (3,760m) 8/9 hours.

    On the 11th day, you head towards the summit of Thorung Peak (6,144m).You start the climb on the rocky surfaces and move ahead battling the snow. Expert climbers will guide you and help you on the way to the summit. After reaching the summit, you spend some time at the top to admire the surrounding views. Then, you descend on a steep path and follow the trail to reach Muktinath. Overnight stay at Muktinath.

  • Day 12 Trek to Jomsom (2,720m) 5/6 hours.

    As Muktinath is a famous destination for pilgrims of Hindu and Buddhist faiths, you can explore around the temple vicinity. After exploring Muktinath, the trail descends to the Kali Gandaki floor and makes a brief stop at EkleBhatti. The trails flat and sandy and you can encounter strong winds especially in the afternoon. After reaching Jomsom, you can enjoy a hot shower and take a good rest as the trek ends today. Overnight stay at Jomsom.

  • Day 13 Early morning we take flight from Jomsom to Pokhara (820m) 25 minutes.

    From Jomsom, you take an early morning flight to Pokhara. Pokhara is a beautiful city and a renowned tourist attraction in Nepal. You can spend the day boating in Phewa Lake or hiking to World Peace Pagoda. Davis Falls, Mahendra Cave, Bat Cave, and Tal Barahi Temple are some of the popular destinations in the valley filled with both natural and cultural riches .At night, you can enjoy the lakeside restaurants, bars, and musical events. Overnight stay at a hotel in Pokhara.

  • Day 14 Drive or fly back to Kathmandu (1,300m).

    On the 14th day, you head back to Kathmandu. You can travel by plane or bus, the choice is up to you. You can spend your time in Kathmandu with some additional sightseeing or souvenir shopping. You can still explore plenty of sites in the Kathmandu Valley which you might have missed on the tour earlier. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 15 Departure from Kathmandu.

    The 15-day trip comes to an end today. Upon completing one of the most adventurous peak climbing packages in the nation, you leave Nepal to head to your destination. A company representative will assist you with all the formalities as you exit the country.
