Manaslu with Larkya Peak Climb Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m).

    As you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport, a Himalaya Summit Club representative will welcome you into Nepal. A drive from the airport will lead you to the hotel where you can rest and unpack your baggage. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu. 

  • Day 2 Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley.

    Our tour for the day involves going sightseeing around the major UNESCO world heritage site of the Kathmandu valley which includes sites such as Swayambhunath, Pashupatinath and Boudhanath.A guide will accompany you during this tour and he shall explain you the significance of these sites. You can visit the Kathmandu Durbar Square and Bhaktapur Durbar Square if you have adequate time. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 3 Drive from Kathmandu to Barpak (1,915m).

    Wake up early and head on a drive to Barpak either on a private vehicle or a public vehicle. The drive covers around 180 kilometers and takes around 7 hours. The drive incorporates the meandering roads on the Prithvi Highway along with the scenes of the gorgeous landscapes on the way. You can clearly see the Ganesh Himal and Manaslu ranges from here. Overnight stay at Barpak.

  • Day 4 Trek to Laprak (2,100m).

    Walk an uphill path commencing from Barpak, and you will go through some of the lush rhododendron forests. A gentle climb takes you to a Bhosu Kang from here a cinematic display of the Ganesh Himal and Buddha Himal range will tantalize you. As the trek is more of a warm-up for the treks lying ahead, you can take your time to reach Laprak. Overnight stay at Laprak. 

  • Day 5 Trek to Khorlabesi (970m).

    We begin our descent through the stone steps until we reach the Machha Khola. We spend some time at the river bank and then go on an uphill journey that continues towards the Sing La village. You will be accompanied by a grandiose display of the snow-capped mountains along with faraway villages like Gumda and Lapu. Before arriving at Khorlabesi, we cross the Khorla village. Overnight stay at Khorlabesi.

  • Day 6 Trek to Jagat (1,300m).

    On the journey, we will trek alongside the roaring Budi Gandaki River. We can encounter many mules too which are used to carry goods and people. On the road to Jagat, we reach the natural hot springsat Tatopani and, after we spend some time there, we head to Jagat. Jagat is also the entry point into the Manaslu Conservation Area. Overnight stay at Jagat.

  • Day 7 Trek from Jagat to Ekle Bhatti (1,600m).

    Today the trail gains an altitude of about 200m so be careful that you don't catch altitude sickness. The trail is ascending and goes through the wilderness like pine forests and rhododendrons. We cross the villages of Salleri and head to Ekle Bhatti. If weather permits, you can observe mountains like Mt. Boudha (6,672 m), Himal Chuli (7,893 m) and Shringi Himal (7,161m). Overnight stay at Ekle Bhatti.

  • Day 8 Trek from Ekle Bhatti to Bihi Phedi (1,990m).

    As the altitude keeps on increasing, we can clearly see the vegetation growing sparse and the greenery slowly disappearing. The Budi Gandaki River will accompany you in each step. We will walk along ridges and pass villages of Nyak, Deng, and Rana. After about 8 hours of trekking, we arrive at Bihi Phedi. Overnight stay at Bihi Phedi.

  • Day 9 Trek from Bihi to Lihi Gaon (2,920m).

    The trail for the day crosses through Mani walls and takes us to the west of the Budi Gandaki River. We make a brief stop at the Namrung village and talk with the locals residing there. As we admire mountains like Shringi Himal, Ganesh Himal, and Himal Chuli. As we cross the Lihi village and Therang River, we visit the local Gumba as well. As we walk a bit further, we arrive at Lho Gaon. Overnight stay at Lho Gaon.

  • Day 10 Trek from Lho Gaon to Sama Gaon (3,520m).

    The trek for the day commences early and passes Ribung Gompa. We can explore the monastery and resume on the trek to Sama Gaon. The trail ahead involves going through pine forests and climbing heavily to reach the Shyala village. We cross numerous suspension bridges over the Budhi Gandaki River and, finally, reach Sama Gaon. Overnight stay at Samagaon.

  • Day 11 Acclimatization at Sama Gaon (rest day).

    In order to get ourselves ready for the endearing trek that lies ahead, we take a day off from the heavy trekking and take some time to acclimatize in the environment. We can also visit the Pung Gyen monastery. The monastery sits at the base of the Mt. Manaslu (8,163m) and is a religious hub to the Tibetan-Buddhist in the area. After spending some time at the monastery, we head back to the trail that leads to Sama Gaon. Overnight stay at Sama Gaon. 

  • Day 12 Trek from Sama Gaon to Samdo (3,875m).

    The walk for today is short but one that gains huge elevation. As we admire the immaculate view of Manaslu Mountains, we trek along the stone steps. We will walk past the Yamnang Glacier and observe numerous Mani walls along the way. The trek takes approximately 4 hours and it provides further time to acclimatize and recuperate your body. Do some sightseeing in Samdo and interact with the locals residing here. Overnight stay at Samdo. 

  • Day 13 Trek from Samdo to Larkya Peak Base Camp (4,800m).

    To reach the Larkya Peak base camp, we make our way to Dharamsala by passing through the Larkya bazaar. On the trail, we can see stone hugs and horses around Dharamsala. With beautiful views of the Larkya Peak (6,249m) and Naike Peak (6,211m), we head to the Larkya Peak base camp. The trek traverses along the Larkya Glacier for the majority of the sections. Overnight stay at Larkya Peak Base Camp.

  • Day 14 Acclimatization at the Base Camp (rest day).

    As we have to conquer the mountain the next day, we must prepare our mind and body for that difficult task. We do so by taking a day off from trekking and hiking around the base camp. The trek and peak climbing guides will explain the things that need to be done while climbing the mountain. Drink plenty of fluid and rest properly. Overnight stay at Larkya Peak Base Camp.

  • Day 15 Basecamp to Summit LarkyaPeak (6,249m) and Descend down to Bimthang (3,590m).

    We begin the ascent early in the morning and our guide will detail you about it. Use your trekking equipment and battle through the snow, winds, and steep climbs to arrive at the summit of the Larkya Peak. You can get a beautiful view of the entire mountain ranges of Manaslu and Cheo Himalayas. We carefully make our way downwards to Bimthang which involves battling the snow. Have your dinner at Bimthang and rest. Overnight stay at Bimthang.

  • Day 16 Trek from Bimthang to Tilije (2,300m).

    The trail to Tilije crosses some of the finest rhododendron forests and farmlands. We arrive at the restricted region of the Manang region and reach the Gho village. We have our lunch in the village and gather our supplies there. We continue to walk along the Dudh Khola until we reach the settlement of Tilije. Overnight stay at Tilije.

  • Day 17 Trek from Tilije to Tal (1,700m).

    The descent from Tilije to Tal involves some of the steepest drops on the entire journey. Initially, we reach the Thonje village and explore the local Thonje Monastery. Further ahead on the trek, today, we go past Dharapani and Karte. Along Mani wall signals our entry in the premise of Tal Village. Overnight stay at Tal.  

  • Day 18 Drive Kathmandu Transfer to the Hotel.

    From Tal, get on a private vehicle or a public vehicle and then transfer to Kathmandu. The drive provides ample time to witness the changing landscape of a typical Nepali highway and you can also get a well-deserved rest in the vehicle. In Kathmandu, you head towards your hotel and rest. Later, you can explore the streets in the city to look for gifts and souvenirs. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu. 

  • Day 19 Transfer to the Tribhuvan International Airport for final departure.

    Today is your final day in Nepal and our representative will drop you off at the Tribhuvan International Airport for your final departure. Goodbye!
