Gokyo Lake Trek with Cho La Pass Trek Itinerary

  • Day 1 Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m), transfer to Hotel.

    Our airport representative will warmly greet you at Tribhuvan International Airport and they will escort you to the designated hotel.We will come to pick you after a short time to attend a small and informative group meeting about the trip.The Team lead and your guide will suggest you about the needed trekking gears and other equipment during our trek. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 2 Kathmandu – Lukla by flight and start trek to Phakding. Overnight at Phakding (2,610m).

    Your journey in this Himalayan country starts from today. We will catch a thrilling scenic flight of 30minutes to Lukla from the domestic terminal of Tribhuvan International Airport. After having our breakfast, we will start our first-day trekking which is of almost three hours along the Dudh Koshi Valley. Initially, we will head toward Chheplungand heads towards Phakding. Overnight stay at Phakding.

  • Day 3 Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m).

    Our walk starts through the dense pine forest crossing the Dudh Koshi River. The colorful prayer marks tied to the suspension bridges marks the presence of Sherpas in this region. Beyond Monjo, we enter the Sagarmatha National Park and trek along the beautiful trails, Mani walls, and Chortens to reach Namche Bazaar which is a beautiful trading village rewarding the tired trekkers with the awe-inspiring Himalayan views. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 4 Namche Bazaar Acclimatization. (Hike to Hotel Everest View, Syangboche).

    Namche Bazar being tucked between the two high ridges is one of the main trading hubs in the Khumbu region with abundant ATMs, hotel, lodges, and restaurants. To acclimatize, we will hike to the Hotel Everest view which offers glorious viewsof the beautiful mountains like Ama Dablam (6,856m), Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,414m), and the Mt. Everest (8,848m). We canalso hike to the Khunde and Khumjung villages. In the evening, we descend back to Namche Bazaar.Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 5 Namche Bazaar to Dhole (4,200m).

    Our trek starts with the challenging stone steps steeply climbing through the Dudh Koshi valley. The trail becomes easier passing through the beautiful rhododendron forests leading us to Sanasa. From here, we will ascend steeply for towards Mong La Danda. The trail bends steeply towards the PhortseThanga and continues through the rhododendron and juniper forests to Dhole. Overnight stay at Dhole.

  • Day 6 Dhole to Machhermo (4,470m).

    As we ascend at the higher altitude we will find different vegetation, instead of thick dense forests we will find thick shrubs and scrub Junipers. Today’s trek is a short trek and the trail passes through some small summer settlement areas and pasture lands. On our trail we will cross Lhabarma, Luza with the beautiful views of Cho-Oyu (8,188m), Thamserku (6,608m), and Kangtega (6,685m) before reaching Machhermo. Overnight stay at Machhermo. 

  • Day 7 Machhermo rest for acclimatization.

    Today will be our rest day at Machhermo. As we are gaining altitude we need to acclimatize to the thinning of the air in the new environment. Enjoying the beautiful views of the high mountains of this region, we will spend our whole day resting and praising the beautiful nature. Overnight stay at Machhermo. 

  • Day 8 Machhermo to Gokyo Lake (4,790m).

    Heading towards the Lakes at Gokyo, our trail follows the scenic path to Phangga. The trail ascends along the ridges offering us with the beautiful views of ChoOyu (8,188m) and then descends slightly along the melting river which further proceeds towards the terminal moraine of Ngozumpa Glacier. The trail passes along the side of the glacier climbing steeply to the Gokyo settlement. Overnight stay at Gokyo.

  • Day 9 Gokyo Lake to Gokyo Ri Climb (5,360m) continue to trek to Dragnag, (4,700m).

    The trail to Gokyo Ri (5,360m)steeply ascends rewarding the inspiring natural views on each step. Gokyo Ri offers us with the magnificent views of the beautiful Khumbu region, panoramic views of the Gokyo valley, the high Himalayas of this region like ChoOyu (8,188m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Everest (8,848m), Lhotse (8,516m), Nuptse (7,861m), and many others. After enjoying the magical views we will descend back to Gokyo and descend to Dragnag. Stay overnight at Dragnag. 

  • Day 10 Cross Cho La pass (5,420m) and trek to Dzongla (4,830m).

    Today’s trek must be started before the sunrise as during the daytime the weather worsens and it becomes difficult to ascend along the slippery trail. We will initially climb to the Cho La Pass (5,420m). Enjoying the magical views of the Himalayas we will slowly descend towards Dzongla. The descent is steep passing through crevasses and pine forests rewarding us with the views of Mt. Ama Dablam (6,856m) and Mt Cholatse (6,335m) and reach Dzongla. Overnight stay at Dzongla.

  • Day 11 Dzongla to Lobuche (4,930m).

    An easy descending trail passes along the verdant forests of shrubs and a small stream, eventually ascending with the views of high mountains. We will follow the main trail leading us to the EverestBase Camp and continues along a glacial moraine will finally take us to Lobuche. Overnight stay at Lobuche.

  • Day 12 : Lobuche to Gorakshep (5,140m) after lunch continue to Everest base camp (5,634m) and overnight at Gorakshep.

    The trail follows the western side of the Khumbu valley and crosses many rocky and icy moraines before reaching the world’s highest settlement, Gorakshep. On having our lunch, we will continue our trekking to the Everest Base Camp. We will also encounter a few frozen mountain lakes in this area with the most exquisite sight of the world’s tallest mountain and the beautiful Khumbu icefall. Mesmerizing and praising those beautiful places we will trace back to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at Gorakshep.

  • Day 13 Gorakshep early in the morning hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m) trek to Pheriche (4,240m).

    We will start our trek in the early morning to Kalapatthar. The trail climbs steeply and bends in the Khumbu region leading us Kalapatthar, which offers the view of perfect sunrise over the mountains like the Mt. Everest (8,848m), Nuptse (7,861m), Lhotse (8,516m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), and Thamserku (6,608m) among many others. Enjoying this beautiful experience we will descend to Lobuche and further proceed towards Pheriche. Overnight stay at Pheriche.

  • Day 14 Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m).

    We will descend all the way back enjoying the beautiful rhododendron forests, waterfalls leading us to Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche, we will visit the famous Tengboche monastery and start to descend further to Phunki Tenga. Descending further on the graveled road for a few hours will finally take us to our destination Namche Bazar. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.

  • Day 15 Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2,840m).

    This will be our last day of trekking. Descending downhill is not easy but today’s trail mostly descends along the flatlands.The trail will smoothly descend all the way back to Lukla crossing, Monjo, Jorsalle and many other settlement areas on our way. On the trek today, we also exit the glorious Sagarmatha National Park and make way to Lukla. Overnight stay at Lukla.

  • Day 16 Lukla to Kathmandu by flight. Transfer to Hotel.

    After having our breakfast we will catch a scenic flight to Kathmandu.On reaching Kathmandu our staff members will drop you back to the hotel in Thamel. Take rest and have your lunch at the hotel. Later, you can explore the areas around the hotel and taste local Newari cuisine.Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 17 Free day in Kathmandu. Visit places of interest by own.

    This will be a free day for you in Kathmandu. If you are tired after a long trek you can take rest at the hotel or can visit some places in Kathmandu on your own. Kathmandu hosts numerous places of interest which are renowned across the world. You can also do some last minute shopping at Thamel or just walk across the street of Thamel. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

  • Day 18 Transfer to airport and fly back home.

    After your breakfast, our staffs will transfer you three hour before your scheduled flight at Tribhuvan International Airport. We wish you a safe journey all the way back to your home and we wish to see you again someday and provide you with our services.
